DESCRIPTION:Saturday 6th November\, 4pm at the Parish Hall\nHi everyone\, it’s that time of year again!\nOn Saturday 6th November at 4pm we’ll be filling the hall with Christmas wrapping paper\, empty shoeboxes\, a few crafts\, Christmas music\, mince pies and hopefully lots of people and gifts!\nThis is where you come in- please come along and bring your friends- everyone is welcome!\nThis year we’re sending shoeboxes through a charity called Blythswood Care which is a Christian charity\, with a mission to transform lives through the impact of education\, community action and gospel activities. One of the reason’s we’ve chosen to be part of Blythswood’s shoebox appeal is that they send boxes to adults as well as children\, in countries close to ACC’s heart!\nBlythwood Care’s website says: \n“Your kindness and generosity makes such a difference\, receiving a shoebox brings so much joy. We are looking ahead to our Shoe Box Appeal 2021 and to helping vulnerable communities across Eastern Europe.\nWe trust we will be able to deliver boxes and bags to Albania\, Bulgaria\, Hungary\, Kosovo\, Moldova\, Romania\, Serbia and Ukraine.\nWe were overwhelmed with the amazing response to our appeal last year. Thank you so much.\n75\,218 shoeboxes and bags were donated and sent off to Eastern Europe.” \nSending shoeboxes through Blythswood is a really practical way of showing God’s love and generosity to people in Eastern Europe and an amazing opportunity for them to hear the gospel through the evangelistic books that Blythswood add to each box.\nWe’ve put together a checklist of essential items that are needed for each shoebox- just follow the link below and tick the item/items you want to purchase to help us make sure we have enough of all of the essentials (rather than 100 toothbrushes and nothing else!)\nhttps://www.checkli.com/checklists/guest_view/6166d8be9f045\nAs well as these essentials here’s a link with ideas from Blythswood of extra things that are great to put into each box:\nhttps://blythswood.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Filler-ideas-for-Shoe-Box-Appeal.pdf\nIf you aren’t free on that Saturday but would like to contribute to the shoeboxes content\, please feel free to get something from the checklist and pop it in the Blythswood box in the porch at church anytime before Saturday 6th November. It’s a great place for young people (Junior school years 3-6) to make friends\, play games\, take part in activities and learn about Jesus from the Bible. \nWhat happens at Roots?\nWe usually begin by having a head-2-head challenge game that’s lots of fun! Then we gather together and learn about the good news of Jesus from the Bible. Afterwards\, we head into the main hall\, where there are big games and activities to do. DESCRIPTION:Play Cafe is a child friendly coffee morning for people of all ages. \nIt’s great place to make friends for all those who love to play and all those who love to sit\, drink coffee and catch up. \nWe warmly welcome anyone from 0-99 and you can arrive whenever you please. \nWe run term-time on Tuesdays 10:45 – 12:30 with a quieter part from 11:30 as the kids have snack\, singing and a story. \nCraft tables suitable for all ages run throughout the morning.
